Boys will be...

Boys??

I remember when Son was about Baby's age, he LOVED to prance around in Daughter's heels, sparkly ballet shoes, tutus and crowns. Hubby and I never gave it second thought. It was natural, obvious (given a big sister) and downright adorable.

Son has now graduated to dressing up like superheroes, dragons and monsters.

And Baby loves hearing the click-clack of the heels on the kitchen floor

Check out those pursed lips ;)

Stopping to build a train real quick

I love those chubby feet, toes spilling out the front

Boys WILL be boys...

Unless of course they have sisters, then they'll try being princesses too. ;)

Hello, my handsome boys

Love the next couple pics. Their faces are so similar in reaction to whatever cartoon they were watching.

Potty Training

Well, I have officially completed potty training for the second time. It went surprisingly well!
We had a few little bumps here and there, and I'm expecting more to come, but that's okay.
He's gone over one week now sleeping in underwear too! And he is so proud!

In fact, the other day he pooped on the potty (which we're still making a big deal about because he was a little hesitant about it) and he stunned everyone with the size of the uh...well, you know.
Anyway, he came and told me he had just pooped a dragon poop.
Huh? :/
After seeing what he was talking about, I agreed. He was so proud that he insisted on saving it in the toilet for the next hour so that he could show it to Daddy when he got home from work.
Yeah, that was awesome.
Daughter now always complains that he takes so long to go potty..."like Daddy!!"
Haha...yes potty training brings out the best in us. ; )

So now I am proud and happy to say that I have 2/3 using the toilet all the time!

Well, almost all the time. ; )

Rainy Days

 It's been raining.

A lot.

Off and on.

And every time it stops, I have a couple kids who are ready at the door, pressing their faces against the glass, pulling on their coats and shoes.
They are itching to get outside.
So I let them.
They asked if they could walk through the mud.
Sure. Shoes will have to come off before you come back in the house, I tell them.
They run away, shouting with glee.
Excited at the thought of mud.

A few minutes later I hear screams followed by shrill bouts of laughter.
Huh?
I go to the door where daughter tells me that son stepped into a sinking mud puddle.
Double huh?
I go out and to the side of the yard and find son.
Sure enough.
Stuck in a sinking mud puddle.

Ah, rainy days.
And mud.
Ah, childhood.

Buzz Lightyear

My friend Jessica just threw her son, Luke (my son's bff) his third birthday party. It was a Buzz Lightyear theme and turned out so great! Check it out on her party blog, Party love
And guess what??
A couple friends and I got to contribute just a tiny bit to the sweet little treats.

My friend Maria, made the cake

My friend Kati made the cookies

And I made edible cupcake toppers. I was so proud of them until hubby thought they were dinosaur feet. They were rockets. My first attempt at rockets. Not dinosaur feet. But if anyone is throwing a dinosaur themed party anytime soon, I do believe I could whip up a mean dinosaur foot. ; )

So fun, huh??

Remember when I mentioned that I was working on something big and fun and scrumptious?

Well these lovely ladies are working on it with me. Hint Hint.

Tootles!

Boys

Quick little funny:

Today, as I was getting Son dressed, he points to his chest and asks "What is that?"

"That's your nipple." I replied.

"Nipple? I have two nipples."

"Yes, you do have two nipples."

"Why are they there?"

"Because everyone has nipples."

"Yeah, everyone has nipples."

Quiet for a minute, the little boy wheels obviously turning.

"I like you Mommy."

I laugh, "Thanks, I like you too."

"I like you because you have GIANT nipples."

aaand...THAT'S a boy for ya! ;-)

And here's a couple more funny pics just to make you giggle. :)
